Original green painted dome top pine trunk from Sweden with wrought iron straps and side handles.
Monogram EFD and date "1840" indicate this trunk was likely a dowry or wedding present.
Traditional hand-painted red/orange details include floral motif along top and front with additional flourishes against a green background (may appear somewhat teal depending on lighting). 
Wrought iron straps, corners and side handles, lock functions with original key which must be used to open.
Restored and waxed, this heavy trunk is ready to be placed and enjoyed. Key included.
Signs of wear typical for age include nicks, scratches, age related separation of wood along top, multiple cracks(front, sides, top, bottom), etc. This wear does not impact the strength nor functional integrity of the trunk which is ready for use.
