18th Century Baroque Blue Painted Oak Stone Top Table, Sweden

This handsome baroque oak stone top table has one drawer, heavily turned legs and attractive lower stretchers. The blue painted finish shows distress and wear revealing the natural oak wood below.
It is the aged stone top that makes this table such a special find. Note the unique, mottled russet color and unique matrix of the stone (found on an island off the east coast of Sweden). Scratches, nicks, gouges to edges are visible and reflective of many generations of use.
Carved under the drawer is a name and date of 1750(?), indicating this table may have been a wedding or dowry present.
Restored, strong, stable, drawer functions. This table could be raised by buyer to make a unique small kitchen island console.

All scratches, cracks, dings, nicks, stains, and age related separation are reflective of age (circa 1750) and do not detract from the appeal nor function of this stone top table table.
