Early 19th-century Swedish narrow cupboard crafted in pine, featuring an upper plate rack, three small drawers, and lower cabinet doors. The piece retains its original hand-painted finish in soft blues and grays, distinctive of northern Sweden and likely associated with the Dalarna region. The interior is painted brick red, creating a strong visual contrast.
The pine shows age-related cracks, scratches, and separation along the sides, with an earlier repair visible along the back. Two wooden latches secure the cabinet doors; the left door shows age-related separation, and both doors display minor cracking consistent with age. It is the original painted surface that defines this cupboard’s character and appeal. Restored strong, stable, and ready for use. Back restored at earlier point in time (wood appears newer).
