It is the years of constant use revealed in every ding, gouge, stain and scratch that enrich the character of this impressive carpenters' workbench from France. Please examine the close up photos to appreciate the dark patina, joints, cracks, old hardware and even old repairs and stains. It has one traditional long vice along the left leg. Unique to this console is the (newer) lower two shelves. The upper serves as a wine rack with the word "BORDEAUX" in black along the front. In the photo of the top, notice the circular holes that served a purpose for the carpernter who originally used it. This work table has been restored and waxed, it is strong, stable and ready to be used and enjoyed especially as a console.
