19th century French sideboard buffet, crafted in hardwood with an old painted finish. While the paint is aged, it is not original to the piece, and mixed layers of ocher, taupe, and brown create a warm, timeworn look throughout. The cabinet features two simple paneled doors and a scalloped skirt below. Distress to the painted finish reveals natural wood throughout, adding to the aged character of the piece. Age related separation of planks is seen along the top, as well as the sides and back. Typical scratches and scuffs are seen throughout the body, while the back reveals heavier distress including old dried wormholes and multiple old repairs, including repairs to the legs. The left door is held in place with an interior hook, and the key and lock no longer function. The right door rests in place, and there is a slight gap seen along the upper left corner. Restored stable and ready for use.
